Introduce yourself to all members in your workplace. Get everyone’s personal contact information. Examples of topics you could discuss (it doesn’t have to be all in one conversation!):
- Give your contact information before asking for theirs
- How they can be involved (meetings, committees)
- Ask them if they have activated their CSU 52 web account and signed up for e-News
- Ask if they have their Membership Card or explain how to get it
- Ask them about their understanding of the Collective Agreement
- Talk about bargaining and ongoing campaigns (e.g. Red Shirt Campaign, Edmonton for Everyone public relations campaign)
- For more ideas, see the Checklist for Shop Stewards Engaging with New Members
