City of Edmonton Bargaining Update

Before the Christmas break, the CSU 52 Bargaining Committee sent an update to the membership responding to the City of Edmonton’s mass email to employees informing them of their "Best and Final offer". As a reminder, the CSU 52 Bargaining Committee rejected this offer and requested to continue mediation.
On the afternoon of Friday, December 22, 2023, the City of Edmonton negotiations team informed us that they will be taking a break over the holidays and will reconvene the week of January 8th. Mediation will either resume or reach a conclusion.
Regardless, we must be prepared for the potential scenario of a vote on what could be the final offer. It is time for the Employer to hear from the membership. A strong voter turnout is the best way for you to send a message to the Employer.
You can do your part by:
- Talking to your colleagues about the potential of a vote,
- Ensuring you and your colleagues have a personal email address on file with the union office; this is the most efficient way for members to vote and receive updates,
- Registering for information sessions (TBA),
- Reviewing the website regularly, and
- Voting.
