December 1 - Bargaining Update: Tentative MOA Reached

Posted on 12/1/2025

Three Things to Know

  1. Your Negotiations Committee is pleased to announce we have reached a tentative Memorandum of Agreement with Capital Power, pending ratification vote.
  2. Your Negotiations Committee fully endorses the deal and looks forward to sharing the details with you. In the spirit of fairness, the Committee cannot share specifics of the deal until it is posted on the website (see MOA at bottom of page). They are able to answer high level questions you might have.
  3. Key highlights include: a general wage increase, and improved and clarifying language on several clauses. There were no concessions given.

Meetings Recap

The Negotiations Committee met and developed proposals based on the feedback received from the membership through the recent bargaining survey. We sincerely appreciate those who took the time to respond and share their concerns.

Last week, we engaged in three full days of negotiations with Capital Power, during which both sides demonstrated a commitment to achieving a fair and reasonable agreement. Our discussions were rooted in interest-based bargaining, allowing us to gain valuable insights in the rationale behind each proposal.

The Negotiations Committee is pleased with the agreement reached and believe the membership will find it satisfactory. However, the Union's work is not complete. Several key issues, particularly regarding the jurisdiction of positions, still require ongoing collaboration between the Union and the employer.
