COE Bargaining Update #11
Posted on 4/16/2025
After hearing all the Union’s monetary proposals and taking time to gauge the things that the Employer believes is important to CSU 52 members, on April 11, the Employer provided the Union with a monetary offer to consider. The offer included the general wage increase (GWI), benefits enhancements, fringe benefits and some non-monetary items. A proposal regarding Program Specialists was also included in the offer.
After considering the offer, the Union provided the Employer with a reasonable counter-offer on April 15. Our offer countered the GWI, accepted many of the Employer’s proposals and added other items of significant importance to members as identified in our bargaining survey and through conversations with members (e.g. hybrid work). The Employer will respond to our offer at our next meeting on April 29.
We know that everyone has seen the emails about other Unions ratifying new Collective Agreements. CUPE Local 30’s Collective Agreement expired at the end of 2023, and they were bargaining with the Employer before CSU 52 started. We’re sure you all noticed that IBEW 1007 received a 4% increase in 2025 – we understand this amount was provided to catch them up to the wage increases that the other Unions, including CSU 52, received in 2024.
We know that CSU 52 members are getting anxious for our bargaining to conclude, and we want you all to know that our committee feels that a negotiated settlement for our Union is achievable in the near future. Stay tuned.
