Union Meetings
CSU 52 holds a variety of regularly scheduled meetings throughout the year that are essential to not only keep members informed and educated, but to also build solidarity and shape the union's direction through democratic gatherings.
Regular Membership Meetings

Regular Membership Meetings are open to all CSU 52 members who are In Good Standing (card-carrying) and are held five times a year, with a usual start time of 5:30 PM (fully or partially online), on the:

  • 2nd Monday of January,
  • 1st Tuesday of April,
  • 1st Wednesday of June,
  • 1st Thursday of October, and
  • 1st Thursday of December

These meetings provide an opportunity for CSU 52 to update members on the business of the Union and its bargaining units, as well as any special initiatives that are underway. It is also an opportunity for Active Members to bring questions and concerns to the floor. Meetings are generally 90 minutes in duration, dependent upon content and member involvement.

Shop Steward Assembly Sessions

Shop Steward Assembly Sessions are held five times a year, with varying start times between 5:30 and 6:30 PM (TBD), on the 3rd Tuesday of:

  • February,
  • March,
  • May,
  • September, and
  • November

These are educational sessions on union, organizing, and labour relations topics. While designed for Shop Stewards, all CSU 52 members who are In Good Standing are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Chief Shop Steward determines the location, format, and time of these sessions.

Board of Directors Meetings

Meetings of the CSU 52 Board of Directors for the following year are determined and approved prior to December 31. For 2026, Board Meetings are scheduled for the:

  • 1st Tuesday of January, and
  • 2nd Tuesday of all other months

Attendance Records

For the purposes of determining nomination/election qualifications or Shop Steward honorariums, members can view attendee lists of Regular Membership Meetings, Unit Meetings, and Shop Steward Assembly Sessions from the last 12 months.
