Civic Service Union 52 (CSU 52) represents technical, professional, administrative and clerical workers within the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Public Library (EPL), TELUS World of Science – Edmonton (TWOSE), EPCOR, and Capital Power.
CSU 52 provides a collective voice for negotiations with our members’ employers, including negotiation of wage increases, promoting improved benefits, safe and fair working conditions, and fairness and equality within the workplace. We represent our members’ interests within the workplace.
CSU 52 is committed to engaging its members, providing them with timely relevant information, creating opportunities for members to come together to share and advance common interests, and to provide members with learning and educational opportunities. Members are encouraged to become involved in the Union at a level and time commitment that is amenable to their life.
CSU 52 is governed by an Executive Board elected from and by the membership. The Executive Board is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Union, while representing the interests of the membership. The President is seconded to the Union office on a full time basis to provide day to day direction in the operation of the Union. Committees of the Union help carry out member based activities from member support to social functions. CSU 52 Shop Stewards are a cornerstone of our Union, building relationships with our members in the workplace and helping to ensure that the provisions of our Collective Agreements are adhered to.
