President's Message to City Members
CSU 52 and the City of Edmonton met late last week and agreed to form teams to begin the process of negotiating a Letter of Understanding (LOU) in regard to a Remote Work from Home Program. It is in the interests of both parties to have an agreement in place as soon as possible. Once a tentative agreement has been reached, it will be brought to the membership for approval. It should be noted that not everyone currently working from home on a temporary basis will be eligible for the permanent Work from Home Program.
CSU 52 would also like to comment on the recent City information that was sent out to City employees yesterday regarding the Reimagine project that the City is currently involved with. Your Union has significant concerns about where this may lead. CSU 52, along with our Coalition of Edmonton Civic Unions (CECU) partners, have been updated to a point but have not been engaged as stakeholders. We will be watching closely as this continues to unfold and will be speaking to Councillors as the project moves along.
