EPCOR Bargaining Update & Ratification Vote Results

Posted on 12/6/2022

CSU 52 members voted on EPCOR’s final offer from Friday December 2, 2022 through to 1:00 PM Tuesday December 6, 2022.

The membership voted to reject EPCOR’s final offer.

EPCOR allowed us to use their corporate email list to reach as many members as possible. EPCOR also worked with CSU 52 to ensure the privacy of the members’ votes. CSU 52 thanks EPCOR for this consideration.

There was also a polling booth at the Union office for those that wanted to vote with paper and ink.

Usually, the Union does not reveal the vote percentages for internal strategic reasons. However, given the nature of this vote and with the desire to provide full transparency the results are as follows:

81.98% of the membership voted

44.72% voted Yes/accept

55.28% voted No/reject

The current Collective Agreement continues until such time as a new agreement can be ratified.

Given the current situation both parties will need to meet, first separately with their teams and then jointly to determine a way forward. The Mediator who wrote out (i.e., felt the parties were too far apart to help) continues to be available if the parties wish to re-engage in mediation.

Thank you to the members for their participation in the vote. The number of members voting was significant and leaves no doubt as to their decision regarding EPCOR’s final offer.

Please continue to monitor the Union’s website for further information and updates.
